Unlocking the Secrets of the Brain: Can a Mindfulness App Tame Anxiety?

Consent for Screening

Thank you for your interest in this Brown University research study. This screening survey should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

In this research study, we are looking for individuals who are interested in helping us learn how the brain processes different experiences and/or seeing if an app can help reduce anxiety. The study involves two parts, and you may be asked to complete one or both. The first part involves completing a Zoom interview lasting around 30 minutes, an online survey lasting around 15 minutes (completed at baseline) and an MRI assessment lasting up to 180 minutes. The second part involves answering daily text-based surveys over the course of 2 months, a follow-up online survey at 2 months, and an MRI assessment at 2 months. In addition, this group will be invited to use a smartphone app designed to help reduce anxiety. Participants enrolled in the first part of the study will have the opportunity to earn up to $75 in Amazon gift cards and up to $560 in Amazon gift cards if enrolled in both parts. Please note that compensation is contingent on completion of certain study elements.
